Medicolegal Assessment

Information for clients

  • The assessment is to examine the effect that the accident / injuries have had upon your personal, social, recreation and worklife.
  • The assessment (if not at work or home) will be at 94 Old Cleveland Road in Stones Corner.  It will take between two to four hours depending on complexity.
  • The assessment will commence with a short questionnaire followed by an interview and physical examination.  
  • You must be capable of walking up four steps, if necessary, with the aid of another competent person (we are very happy to assist if required).
  • We request that you dress appropriately for the physical assessment. Any person under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. 
  • Children cannot attend due to the lengthy nature of the assessment.  Pets are strictly not permitted.
  • Onsite parking is available – but only by prior arrangement.

Information for referrers

  • The assessment, depending on your instructions, can address the client’s functional capacity, capacity to work, occupational outlook (and impact on income), activities of daily living (past and future care needs and estimated commercial costs), home modifications and adaptive equipment needs (with predicted costs) and treatment and rehabilitation requirements.
  • Assessments can be conducted in our Stones Corner rooms, at the client’s workplace or home and if necessary, remotely by telehealth. We travel Australia wide and overseas.
  • We have conducted many 1000s of assessments concerning persons with chronic / persistent pain, complex disability, head and spinal cord injuries, amputation, brachial plexus injuries and burns, respiratory problems (i.e. silicosis, mesothelioma etc) and psychological injury.
